The Annie O Show was approved for kickstarter! Now the first few pages will be made along with some advertising illustrations. Exciting times ahead. I can’t wait to start painting the pages with enamel paints and spray paint. This is going to be a blast.

Hi! This is Kaity, the artist for ‘The Annie O Show’. When trying to develop the style for the comic I had a hard time pushing away from my manga roots to really give the comic the visual uniqueness it needed. One day I did some drawings on a white wood panel with paint pens and I knew that was the perfect way to present Annie O. I want the comic to come across as if it is really gratified on something. Hand drawn and a little rough with broad outlines and bright colors. I enjoy exploring the graffiti world and trying out techniques for myself to give Annie O the real graffiti feel. Here are some images of some new supplies I bought to get started on some sample pages and illustrations!
‘The Annie. O Show’ is about a young woman who uses graffiti to speak out against consumerism and government authority. Homeless, she train-hops through the United States and leaves her mark in every town. Although she has gained notoriety, she’s frustrated by a lack of action in response to her message. When she finally takes an extreme measure and tries to get herself arrested, she realizes she’s been a tool for the same institution she’s been fighting.
